Centre Georges Pompidou – Also known as the Pompidou Centre, this complex in the Beaubourg area houses the Bibliothèque publique d’information, a huge public library, the Musée National d’Art Moderne which is the biggest museum for modern art in Europe, and a centre for music and acoustic research. It is named after Georges Pompidou, the President of France from 1969 to 1974 who commissioned the building. Parisians consider the centre to be the cultural pulse of the city.


Train: Public transport system in paris excellent. paris rail network is comfortable, reliable and fast. The main rail website offers excellent information on timetables, services and discounts. The quality of service offered by the rail network makes it far more appealing than bus links.

Air links: Paris is served by Orly airport and Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport, both well linked by public transport to central Paris. Further out is Paris Beauvais airport, which handles charter flights and some budget airlines such as Ryanair.

The RER B train line is the quickest way to reach central Paris from Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle  Trains run every 10-15 minutes,

Public Transport System: Paris features an impressive public transport system. the subway, trams and buses assure reliable and clean transportation. The underground/subway system, cable car is particularly easy to navigate. At night, there exists a network of night buses, a cheaper alternative to taking a taxi. A single bus fare costs £1.50 for a single Journey, Paper single tickets are available from all ticket machines at tram stops for £2.60.
